Zach Fucale on Salut Bonjour: Canadiens prospects and Make Your Move's 10th edition

Our cofounder Zach Fucale hit the airwaves this week, including a stop on Salut Bonjour, to talk Canadiens prospect Alexander Zharovsky and the 10th edition of our shootout tournament Make Your Move (July 11-12, Boisbriand).

Our cofounder Zach Fucale made the media rounds this week, including a stop on Salut Bonjour, to talk about two things close to his heart: the Canadiens' future and his own tournament, Make Your Move, which turns 10 this summer.

The 31-year-old goaltender is coming off a season in the KHL with Dinamo Minsk in Belarus. It was his third year in the league, his first with that organization. And it gave him a view almost nobody back home has right now: he watched Alexander Zharovsky up close, the young Russian prospect the Canadiens drafted and that everyone is already comparing to Ivan Demidov.

His team only faced Zharovsky twice last year, and Zach wasn't in net either night. But he had a front-row seat at the end of the bench.

"Demidov just played his first season in the NHL, so it's easier to judge his potential. For Zharovsky, we'll see. The skill is definitely there. We'll have to see how he handles things once he gets to North America."

Zharovsky is spending part of his summer in Montreal to acclimate, with Demidov showing him the ropes, and he'll be at the Canadiens' development camp in early July. For Zach, that's the right call, even if the kid still needs more mileage in the KHL before making the jump for good.

"I think it's great. He gets to settle in, meet people in the organization, the players who train in Montreal. It's perfect, even if he has to go back to the KHL next year."

Make Your Move turns 10

Make Your Move celebrates its 10th edition on July 11 and 12 at the Sports Rousseau Centre of Excellence in Boisbriand.

The concept stays true to itself: a shootout competition. No 3-on-3, just pure skill and a good time. Demidov was part of it last year.

"It's seriously a blast. You show up in flip-flops, there's music, we have a ton of fun. And there'll be a lot of new stuff for the 10th edition, including an expo for card collectors."

Ten years in and the event keeps growing. To mark the decade, the Living Sisu has lined up a few surprises this year, starting with that card collectors expo.

See you in Boisbriand on July 11 and 12.
