“Sport doesn't build character. It shows you what was already there”

Lesson 01
Nobody wakes you up. Nobody cheers when you lace up alone.
The house is quiet. Your body is not ready. You go anyway.
That is where sisu lives. In the room before the room everybody sees.
Winning only teaches you what you already knew.
Losing strips the story. No excuses left. Just you, the scoreboard, and the choice to come back tomorrow.
Every athlete worth anything has lost more than they remember. That is the tuition.
Lesson 02
From the quiet prep to the loud finish. Different sports. Same thing inside.
“Sport doesn't build character. It shows you what was already there”
“Played my first NHL game after a 8 years in the minors. Thats the real story.”
“The set that breaks you is the one that builds you.”
Your body remembers 10,000 swings. Your mind only remembers the one that counted.
The alarm nobody else hears. The version of you nobody else meets.
Before the one win everybody remembers. Sisu is the ratio you never talk about.
One more rep when the body wants out. Every day. For years. That is the whole thing.
“When you want to stop, you're almost there.”
