Week 5 of the LSHL continued at full throttle with a thrilling matchup between Be Healthy Love Berry and Accent Assurances, in a game that had all the makings of a playoff preview.
Right from the opening seconds, Laurent Dauphin lit up the ice with two goals in less than two minutes, eventually finishing the game with four. The atmosphere was electric, and the commentators seized the moment to highlight the power of his shots with a biting pun, calling them “shark shots.”
The start of the game was absolutely wild — four goals in under four minutes and nine goals total in the first period alone. The pace never slowed down: each team answered back quickly, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.
Among the highlights, Raphaël Lavoie scored a beautiful goal thanks to a brilliant individual effort, but it was the play of the game by Jake Evans and Elliot Desnoyers that truly stole the show. On a breakaway, Evans left the puck between his legs for Desnoyers, who calmly outwaited the goalie and buried the puck with poise.
Just when the game looked headed for a shootout, Nicolas Aubé-Kubel completed his hat trick with just 30 seconds left, breaking the tie and sealing a dramatic 9–8 win for Be Healthy Love Berry.
The Joseph Brothers Shine in a Spectacular Duel
Playoff intensity is building in the LSHL, and this matchup between Manmade and Rénobrio was a perfect example. Even before the puck dropped, tensions were high: Joe Veleno and P-O Joseph met at center ice during warm-ups to exchange a few words — a clear sign of a personal showdown in the making.

It was also a special night for Bill Zonin, who made his LSHL debut, and for David Perron, who scored the game’s opening goal. The pace was fast, the shifts were longer, and the players’ fitness was on full display — something Éric Bélanger pointed out in a mid-game interview.
Asked which Joseph brother was better, Patrick Roy and Steve Bégin offered a diplomatic response: “Both!” It’s tough to compare a defenseman and a forward, but the two NHL veterans admitted that the Joseph brothers had been the most physically impressive players they’ve seen so far.
On the ice, the show didn’t disappoint. Goalie LaPena made a highlight-reel save that drew thunderous applause, while Veleno showcased his quick hands in tight spaces.
But the play of the night came from P-O Joseph, who fired a shot so powerful it knocked Veleno’s water bottle clean off the top of the net — a moment that brought the crowd to its feet.
At the end of the second period, the score was tied 8–8, and the Joseph brothers had combined for six of Rénobrio’s eight goals. The back-and-forth continued into the third, with both teams trading goals right up until the end.
Manmade held a 10–8 lead with two minutes left, and although Rénobrio managed to cut the lead to 10–9, they couldn’t complete the comeback.
