The regular season is picking up speed in the Living Sisu Hockey League, and teams seem increasingly aware that the playoffs are fast approaching. Week 3 featured two high-paced games filled with inspired performances, spectacular comebacks, and a flurry of goals.

Game 1: Rénobrio Holds On Against a Late Push

Rénobrio 8 – Be Healthy Love Berry 4

From the opening faceoff, Rénobrio set a relentless pace. The team came out with intensity, as if the playoffs had already begun. Pierre-Luc Dubois notably fired a powerful shot that rang off the post, drawing strong reactions—even from the commentators.

After building a three-goal lead, Rénobrio saw Jonathan Aspirot spark Be Healthy with a well-placed goal in the second period. The game was briefly tied, but Rénobrio quickly regained control with discipline and a strong performance from their goaltender.

One moment that stood out was a controversial sequence involving Vincent Desharnais, who took a high stick to the face that went uncalled—prompting frustration from the broadcast team.

Game 2: 30 Goals and Non-Stop Action Between Manmade and Action Assurance

Manmade 18 – Action Assurance 12

The second game of the evening was a wild one from start to finish. Nicolas Meloche opened the scoring just 15 seconds in, and the pace only escalated from there. Manmade built a commanding 12-4 lead, but Action Assurance mounted an unexpected comeback, narrowing the gap to 13-11 and putting the outcome back in question.

Several new faces stood out throughout the matchup, including Ethan Gauthier, William Lacelle, Jake Evans, and Tyler Toffoli. Gauthier, in particular, impressed with his vision and offensive instincts, capping off one highlight play with a nice setup from Samuel Poulin.

Goaltender Franky Lapenna also stood tall despite the high score, making several key saves to preserve the win.

After the game, Joe Veleno shared his pride in wearing the Canadiens jersey in this summer format, noting that the last time he played in Montreal was during his midget AAA years. Manmade, for its part, seemed particularly energized by the presence of several CH-affiliated players on the opposing roster.

In Summary

  • Game 1: Rénobrio remains steady and reinforces its status as a contender.

  • Game 2: 30 goals, speed, and no shortage of offensive fireworks.

Week 4 promises to bring just as much energy as the playoff race heats up in the LSHL.
