The Centre Hockey Etcetera was buzzing once again on Tuesday night as Week 4 of action was in full swing in the Living Sisu Hockey League. The summer atmosphere was at its peak, and from warmups on, it was clear a special night was in the making.

The trio of Suzuki, Laine and Demidov drew all eyes from their very first strides, while Carrier, Evans and Dauphin rounded out a lineup that looked straight out of the Canadiens’ locker room, making the iconic tricolor shine at the heart of the LSHL.

The game opened to roaring applause from the crowd, and the intensity kicked in from the very first shift. Goals were traded quickly at both ends, fueling an already electric energy in the arena. True to form, Patrik Laine brought the crowd to its feet with a signature goal from his office, then added another one just minutes later.

The atmosphere never let up. Between whistles, host André Roy caught a puck mid-air, triggering spontaneous cheers in the stands. And when a penalty was called against a Canadiens player, the boos erupted instantly.

Meanwhile, Ivan Demidov, all smiles, was soaking in every moment of the night. It was him, in fact, who cut the lead to one with under a minute to go, bringing Accent Solutions Assurance within reach at 8-7. But Renobrio held strong and sealed the deal with a ninth goal in the final seconds.

Final score: Renobrio 9 to Accent Solutions Assurance 7

The night’s second game, between Manmade and Be Healthy Love Berry, brought a wave of “oohs” and “aahs” right from the opening faceoff. The intensity was immediately palpable.

Joe Veleno set the tone early by snapping his stick and tossing it to the ice with a smirk. Kris Letang, making his LSHL debut, added a touch of finesse with some clean breakouts, including one that led to a goal by Nicolas Aubé-Kubel, who cheekily blew on his stick afterward, as if to say, “That was fire.”

Beyond the flashy plays, it was the physical intensity that stood out. Hits were more frequent, players were fully engaged, and it was clear that with the pro season approaching, things were getting serious. BHLB came away with a 7-3 win in a game where the temperature and the tempo kept rising.

Final score: Be Healthy Love Berry 7 to 3 Manmade

Watching all these high-profile players — Suzuki, Demidov, Laine, Carrier, Evans and more — skating just a few feet away, smiles on their faces, felt like watching characters step out of a TV screen and come to life. There was something surreal about seeing them play in such an intimate setting, where every pass, every goal and every grin felt magnified. That, in essence, is the magic of the LSHL, a summer league that, despite its lighthearted format, gives off an aura larger than life. Like the players it brings together, it exceeds expectations and turns an ordinary Tuesday night into something unforgettable.
