The summer season of the Living Sisu Hockey League (LSHL) officially got underway Monday night in a warm, laid-back atmosphere at Hockey Etcetera. About a hundred spectators were on hand to catch two games played in a fast-paced 3-on-3 format that encourages offense and creative play. Several fans proudly sported jerseys from La Victoire de Montréal.
Pros, smiles… and even a dog
Individual stats take a back seat in this summer league, which focuses more on fun, skill development, and visibility. But a few moments still stood out: the first official goal of the season came from Team Manmade in a 9–4 win over Be Healthy Love Berry. In net, Arianne Leblanc stood tall, while Marie-Philip Poulin—unsurprisingly—reminded everyone why she’s one of the best in the world. Also making waves: Emmy Fecteau of the New York Sirens, who showed up on the bench… with her dog!
Renobrio strikes fast
In the second game of the night, Renobrio wasted no time—scoring just 14 seconds into the match. The game ended in an 11–8 win for Accent Insurance Solutions. Despite strong offensive efforts from Maya Labad, recently drafted by La Victoire de Montréal, her squad came up short against Ève Gascon, goaltender for the University of Minnesota-Duluth (NCAA).
More to come this summer
With its innovative format, laid-back vibe, and social purpose, the Living Sisu League offers a refreshing alternative to traditional hockey.
